I wish.. Christmas didn't mean going home to Palmerston North.
i'm impressed. It takes a bit.

Iain o'Brien, black cap... I used to teach him.

Wow!

He's a nice fellow...Honest, hard working. He deserves full credit.. Some have said he's queer... NOT. I know this.

Hell, he's 32... I knew him when he was 14...

We voted...

Well done NZ! You voted and we now have that new government.

Winnie the Pooh has been sent back to consider his future.

Helen is looking to holiday in the opposition back benches for 3 years and then swan off to posts overseas... she has been linked to chairing the UN.

Mr Cullen decided to follow in Helens hoof prints but I wonder about his future....

Oh and that Mike Williams.... the sooner he gets out the better for all concerned, most parties don't need internal demolition as well as voter deconstruction.

100 days of tasks for John and off to Peru is the start in 10 days.....

Civil defence awareness.... Oh Dear!!!

Are you aware?

Let's think a programme, a series.... two episodes on the effect of a major earthquake in Wellington. Civil Defence awareness week!

Programme One: very warying, people make daft choices and die, people stay put and die, people attempt to help and get shot, people, people people... lets wring ones hands!

Survivors are on the hills in Horokiwi... Find smart old lady whose happily sitting safe... Dumb selfish boy daydreaming his way along. Funny older guy sorta gets it right. Enter diabetic guy who was washed up from motorway as well.. almost in coma. What is the answer????

Let's drag him across the hills to Johnsonville to save him with insulin stolen by breaking into a chemist shop!!!!! Oh hell, you may as well have strangled him in the old girls house!

Why not leave him with the old woman and the warmth... Go cross country yourself (it's faster) go to Police station or Civil defence centre that we do know is there, had officers assist to open Chemist.. Oh, that's right it's not real Panther and people do stupid things!!!!

Even civil defence don't have a plan! The Controller struggles with the issues of road gangs and no progress, fires and no water, death and no contingency. She is a broken woman as she has no resources.

Has anyone ever heard of a bulldozer? Basically, how do roads clear and fires get stopped without appropriate equipment. Get a bulldozer, slow as it may be and clear the wreaks away, open the raods to hospitals, dig large graves and create firebreaks in old Wellington by demolishing houses which will go up in flames anyway.

Up lifting even.... Can't wait till Thursdays "help" programme. Viewer turns off. Discussion in the office next day, we have some really dumb people around!

Programme two: The unsuspecting family.... a simulation!

Let's light a fire hahahaha... it's raining so we'll dig a firepit... hold a tarp over as someone jiggles matches at damp paper....

Oh hell... why not use the wheelbarrow to protect the fire? It was sitting right next to the firepit, empty, metal, and could provide more protection. The tarp would be great to cover the wood with. Why not pop a candle under the paper, light that and then watch the fire burn?????

Common sense... lets get water from the stream... good start! We'll all carry water collection things... where is the bucket???? Ok, no buckets lurking around outside... rubbish bag? Um, that trusty wheelbarrow? NOOOOOOOOOoooooooooo, never! We'll carry a 500ml coke bottle, 750 ml wine bottle and an old tin can.... one item each and everyone goes along for the walk in the rain!!!!

Were does water come from? Well, it's all contaminated... lets boil it.... oh dear it's raining!!!!! Why not purify it using a dash of janola less energy use and faster availability... Oh, that's right no one grabbed it.

Bugger me the neighbour needs shelter... we'll give them a tent as we have two..... That's fair! Now the family of 5 crams into the 3 man tent and whines about the situation. Whatever happened to the trusty tarp??? Could that be hooked up to the tent to provide a wee awning??? Never, not in an emergency!

So how did the family feel they did... well considering they were about to be rescued in three days they did well or so they thought! In reality... the diabetic boy was about to die as they were pretty much stuffed and could not look after themselves for any longer. They had on food, water or fuel!

Sad state of affairs and we will have a major event and these people will die!

Me..... call me a Saint! Well if there is an event.. I have at least 3 contingencies as we are all asked to plan make "A PLAN" but if you make "A PLAN" what happens if the plan is scuttled on the first roll of the dice?

I hope I get a chance to use at least one of the plans I have and promise to use the wheelbarrow to collect water and the tarp for shelter.

I'm unfollowed..

No one reads my blog.... I feel as if I'm a blogging failure.

Was it the full scale attack on Julian Dean, the honest opinions on Winnie the Pooh, the questioning of Owen Glenn's actions..... oh hell failed be 4 starting.

I have a Labour slogan... maybe an election view that'll work... want a surgeon to cut it out? Or a solution to solve an issue long term?

Yes, I vote without hidden agenda. Basically, Helen is surrounded by idiots this time! She had no choice, I like the look of the new list... If voted in it may work. John Key, well Maurice Williamson although rescinding comments spoke the honest truth.... National will cut out the rot and we'll drown long term.

Why can't the country vote and give someone an honest majority so that they don't have to rely on POOH?

Oh, that's right FFP is not OK.

I can't wait... Peters vs Glen

Where will it end????

I'm amazed that Owen has to clear his name? Why?

Winnie the Poohhhh... aka Winston Peters

How can a pooh... whiff around the political scene for such a long time and still smell of roses????

Time is is ticking and Winston's career is on the line. Will there be the cleansing delivery of true hard fact or will the tale of woe continue until Winston is no more?

Somehow........ in his time, he'll make us wait until most of us can't remember the initial issue and Rodney Hide changes from that yellow jacket to a more sombre black.

Politicians open their lives and actions to scrutiny. Winston is fast learning that throwing stones in glass houses is seldom advisable.

Tony Veitch is an unlucky bugger!

Hell, what a witch hunt!

The nasty little secret seeps out and "Tony nice guy" becomes "Tony the terrible" overnight.

Disowned by colleagues, ridiculed by the NZ "A" list... Matthew Ridge... who the hell and the righteous lobby groups baying for blood.

The police have finally charged him, seven counts, and we can't wait to put him away and pay for his upkeep for a couple of years....

However, what about the "Lionman" who abused his missus and still has a much loved telly programme, that rugger fella who broke his girl friends jaw, Jimmy Cowan charged with multiple accounts of assault, the recent spate of All Black drink drivers... Those guys still have their jobs and future.

Veitch has no job and at the rate things are going, no future.

Yes, he needs to be accountable what he has done is shocking, but he's paid compensation, had counseling, and fessed up now on national tv. What is a reasonable outcome?

We've now had police withdrawn from other investigations
(I believe Auckland still has at least 3 unsolved murders), to investigate the retrospective issue and lay charges. However, now that they have got to the bottom of it and charged him, we still have to go through a trial and that's an even greater cost to the nation.

I wonder what legal advice Tony and the ex received when they made the compensation deal???? Was if for the benefit of both or the laywers brokering the deal. I'm sure they are now raking in a little more in the defense of Veitch and supporting the new legal actions of the ex...

Lalalalalalalalaaaaa.... lets keep wasting resource, throw way the key and keep him unproductive and draining social services $$$$$$ for as long as possible.

Bog at work!

We have a newly renovated bog... toilet for the more polite.

The ultimate in 5 Star improvement, we were told.

2 1/2 weeks of labour, inconvenience ( we had to fight Geni staff for access to theirs three levels down the stair well). I think a positive of the arrangement was that I started to lose a little weight with the effort of the return climb.

What to we get for our upgrade buck??? New tiles and a paint job. The buggers reused all the old fittings just spruced things up a little from burnt orange to beige!

It still looks like your standard school toilet, even with a chubby hole for the bucket and mop.

We're a little fortunate really as we do have toilet brushes allocated to each cubicle.

But why......? We still have deposits and poo slides left for viewing. They could have saved some cash by not providing them.

Would someone kindly remind the End User that when their crap sticks... use the brush provided.

NZ Road Cycling Olympic Pride.....

One wonders about aims and aspirations when considering the New Zealand Road Cycling team..... This applies to the male and female teams.

Team cycling applies to a "team" in cycling two does not necessarily equal team so for the women a disadvantage was immediately detected. The men hung around together but from a team perspective you may as well have gone your own way. Fortune favors the brave!

However, if a team one would expect strategy. That implies cycling to a pattern, with the object of winning or at least being noticed.

I was shocked to see the mens "team" huddled deep within the pelaton all day long.... it wasn't the tour.... It was a one off event that started and ended on the same day, and getting 43rd doesn't matter when you're hunting for GOLD, SILVER or BRONZE!

For those who aren't into cycling a peleton is the largest group of cyclists in a race and when you sit in it you're RESTING. AKA NZ team!

There are all kinds of strategies that involve attacking (sprinting ahead as individuals or breakaway groups) versus staying back in the pelaton, depending on whether your goal is to win the stage, or to win the overall Tour.

So what am I getting at....

Well, one would expect an aspiring team or individual to be tucked in behind the leaders for at least one breakaway effort. At least then we will have sighted you and you will have given yourself half a chance!

I wouldn't be feeling to bad for you either!

We talk about selection policy and see in other codes, people meeting qualification times and missing out because they have no hope of finishing in the top 10.

In this instance the mediocre were there and we wonder if there was a selection criteria for qualifying for the scenic "Tour de Bejing"! Horses are picked for courses.... Julian Dean and co were not the correct horse's for this course!
